This famous Balearic island has been popular as a beach resort for the young and trendy for decades. Despite it's small size - it's only 585 square kilometres - it's a hub of activity in the summer months, when it's nightlife is neverending. During the day, tired revelers rejuvenate themselves on the golden beaches, sunbathing in pretty hidden coves and bays and soaking up the idyllic setting with its pretty white-washed houses hugging the Cliffside, and a lush hilly landscape dotted with olive and fig trees.
Located in the magical Mediterranean, just 79km from the Spanish city of Valencia, Ibiza is picture perfect. It's main town, Ciudad de Ibiza, or Eivissa as it's called by the locals, is a bustling little place in the south of the island, full of excellent restaurants and bustling nightclubs. Three of the island's most beautiful beaches are located nearby - namely Gigueretes, Es Cavallet and Ses Salines.
The island's main resort is called San Antonio and although not as unspoilt and charming as the rest of the island, it's the hub of activity for holidaymakers. Two of the island's most popular clubs, Es Paradis and Eden, are located here, and in the daytime, visitors enjoy exquisite coves and glorious beaches nearby.
If you're prepared to look further than the beaches and the busy nightlife, you'll find lots more to enchant you on the island. There are a number of picturesque little towns and villages to explore and for those who prefer more sedate fun after dark, there's cabaret and a choice of more sedate partying.
